It’s the monthly Fourth Friday Art Stroll through the galleries of Sisters, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 22. At Hood Avenue Art, it’s “Holiday Magic,” as gallery artists exhibit handcrafted, original fine art. Drop by for refreshments and live music. Simon Haycraft is an art- ist and a fisherman. He’s fas- cinated with lakes and rivers and the creatures that inhabit them. His portraits of fish look real, like they are swimming in water. But, surprise, they are made of wood! Haycraft has been experimenting with wood as both a canvas and an integral part of his subject matter. See his work at Gary Cooley’s Collection Gallery. Clearwater Gallery artists are ringing in the season with the annual “Red Bow” sale. Give the gift of art, timeless and priceless. Gallery is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m. with wine and light appetizers. Sisters Coffee is doing a happy hour featuring pottery by Laura Campbell of Sisters. Sisters Gallery & Frame Shop is aglow with Kimry Jelen’s colorful work, and- Jennifer Hartwig will be demonstrating scratch- board. Shop for last minute Christmas gifts including pot- tery, jewelry, and knitted hats. December’s Cascade A&E features a story on Ken Scott by reporter Dave Clewett. Pick up a copy and talk to Scott at the Imagination Gallery, and browse through paintings, glasswork and handcrafted jewelry by guest artists. Studio Redfield has new paintings by Randy Redfield and hand-painted ceramic tiles by Kibak Tile, open until 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments. Delight a loved one with art or jewelry handcrafted by Native American and Inuit art- ists. Turquoise, one of the ear- liest gems ever worked into jewelry, is December’s birth- stone. Few jewelers inlay this stone better than Navajo Dee Nez, featured at Raven Makes Gallery. Enjoy hot cocoa at their fire pit.
