Poor Man’s Whiskey headed to Sisters Northern California’s outlaw music bards bring a reputation for high-energy live shows and an incom- parable fusion of bluegrass/ old-time, Southern rock, and old-school jam to stages and festivals worldwide. They’re bringing their “High-Octane Hootenanny” to Sisters at The Belfry on Saturday, November 18. Poor Man’s Whiskey is known for their stel- lar repertoire of original material with Americana, bluegrass, rock, and folk influences. The Belfry is located at 302 E. Main Ave. in Sisters. Land, Light and Life: Nature through the Eyes of Artists is a collabora- tive effort between the High Desert Museum and At Liberty, Bend’s new art space and cultural hub. Oregon artists Andrew Myers, Michael Boonstra, Nancy Watterson Scharf, Monica Helms, Kendra Larson and Craig Goodworth used a broad range of strate- gies to interpret nature from their own, unique perspec- tives and in a variety of media. Their chosen subjects include aerial images of the desert, the dazzling effects of light in the landscape, cel- ebrating the rich visual diver- sity of life and concern about rs. rew Mye d n A y b edators Apex Pr the rising toll of mass-extinc- tion. The exhibition opened Friday, November 10. “This exhibition represents the Museum’s commitment to community outreach and offers the public an opportu- nity to experience contempo- rary art in historic downtown Bend,” said Andries Fourie, the Museum’s curator of art and community engagement. The Museum and At ED VID RO P TO O PH Liberty will host a First Friday Art Walk event on December 1 starting at 5:30 p.m. The event is free to the public and offers an oppor- tunity to meet some of the artists, view the artwork and enjoy light refreshments.
