Art exhibit features printmaking The “Inner and Outer Landscapes” exhibit will fea- ture the prints of artists Gin Laughery and Julie Winter. Both artists are members of Atelier 6000, a center for printmaking and book arts. A6 cultivates art and appre- ciation, enhances learning through art, and expands cre- ative expression. The Sisters-based Roundhouse Foundation, in an effort to further its sup- port for the arts and artists in Sisters and Central Oregon, is sponsoring this exhibit. The exhibit is open week- days at Sisters Art Works, 204 W. Adams Ave. The community is also invited to the artist reception, June 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. dur- ing the monthly 4th Friday Art Stroll. Organizers invite the Sisters community to gather around the SAW out- door fire-pit, meet the artists, see the show and celebrate creative Sisters. Refreshments will be served. The boys golf squad finally broke 400 at the Crook County Invitational held at Meadow Lakes Golf Course on Monday, May 1. The Outlaws’ goal all season has been to break 400, and on Monday they met their goal with a team score of 398. Ten teams were in atten- dance, and Summit came out on top with a team score of 284, four strokes under par. Runner-up was The Dalles at 307, and Pendleton took third at 322. Remaining scores were: Bend (344), Molalla (340), Crook County (342), Mt. View (347), La Pine (348), Redmond (377) and Sisters (398). Austin Lake led the Outlaws with a season-low of 88. Austin played a great front nine with back-to-back pars on the fifth and sixth holes, fol- lowed by a birdie on No. 7, and another par on the eighth hole. Wyatt Hernandez carded a 99, and Andrew Mayes was just one stroke back at 100. Kade Owen shot a 111, and Peyton Myhre rounded out the scores with a 112. Three days later, the Outlaws had a great day on the links at Black Butte Ranch, and posted a 376, which Coach Bill Mitchell told The Nugget is probably the best score they’ve had in four years. Junction City took first at 355, and Sutherlin was run- ner-up at 358. Stayton placed third at 367 and Sisters took fourth at 376. Remaining scores were: Cascade (377), Cottage Grove (396), and North Marion (397). Lakes led the Outlaws with an 83, followed by Owens who posted a 94, a career- best. Hernandez carded a 99, and Myhre shot 100. Andrew Mayes finished at 102. “Austin is getting a lot more confidence, which is huge,” said Mitchell. “He’s also hitting his driver well. Several of the kids are getting a little more comfortable with this complicated game. It just takes time.” The Lady Outlaws played a round at the Santiam Golf Club on Monday, May 1, to get a feel for the course before the District Tournament. The course was extremely wet.
