Since she was a freshman, she’s always said ‘hi’ and she always seems so happy. Zidane truly is the full package, as she is dedicated to her studies, involved in extracurricular activities and has a personality to enhance the school culture. Zi- dane is truly a positive role model who adds to the optimistic atmosphere of this school year. Thanks Zidane, for all you do for Sisters High School.” – Joe Hosang “Zidane is the student at SHS who, when you en- counter her in the hall, will always have a huge smile on her face, greet you with an emphatic ‘What’s Up Roth,’ and always ask what she can do to help. We are extremely lucky to have her as a student at SHS. She goes above and beyond every day.” – Tim Roth “I’ve had the privilege of working with Zidane in a variety of contexts: She’s been a student in many of my English classes, a tutor in our school’s Writing Center, and a leader on our Associated Student Gov- ernment. In all of these contexts, Zidane’s incredible work has exceeded my expectations. She is a student who always elevates class discussions by listening carefully to others and adding insightful comments. She is a tutor who knows how to share her love of learning and care for the people around her. And she is a person who leads with a tough mind and tender heart. I feel very blessed to be her teacher, and I am so glad that she has won this award — she truly deserves it.” – Matthew Bradley “Zidane truly deserves this honor! Zidane has many remarkable traits that recommend her: she is a conscientious student, a diligent and persistent inquirer, a hard-working teammate and a leader among the students at SHS. But perhaps Zidane’s most endearing trait is the good cheer that she spreads around the building all day, every day among classmates, staff and faculty. Her eternal smile and consistently positive attitude draw in those around her – we all celebrate Zidane’s many successes. Go, Zidane, go!” – Rob Corrigan “Zidane has been an incredible student through four years of Chinese classes. She is involved in so many school activities, yet she is able to keep up with her in-class work. She is truly an inspiration to me as a teacher, and to her fellow students. I’m honored to have been her teacher and to get to know her. Way to go, Zidane!” – David Perkins “Zidane is a great student and an even better person. She balances setting high expectations for herself, caring about those around her, striving for success, and appreciating the experience of struggle toward success with a level of grace that is extraordinary. SHS is a better place because she is part of it.” – Daniel O’Neill “My fi rst day here at the high school she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and at ease. Her willingness to chat with me about her future and hopes for her senior year, along with a genuine concern for everyone’s well-being around her was noted. A few days later, as I returned for a second day at school, she was friendly and made a point to say ‘Good morning, Mrs. Seed.’ (She had only met me the one time!) What a great as- set to our school and community! For me, it was a wonderful introduction to the school and students here at Sisters High. I wish her all the best in her fi nal high school year and great success with her career goals! Congratulations!” – Stephanie Seed, Counseling Intern, OSU-Cascades “Zidane is a dynamic, motivated, exceptional young woman who inspires people around her to be better! She pushes herself to learn and grow in all aspects of her life. I cherished the class discus- sions she initiated in chemistry and biology classes. Zidane’s determination and vision has helped her achieve her goals. In cross-country she has devel- oped from a novice runner to an experienced and competitive racer and captain who motivates others through her actions. We are so fortunate to have Zi- dane be a part of our community! Congratulations, Zidane!” – Rima Givot “Zidane brings light and life to the SHS student body. She is incredibly well-balanced and is a model of a servant leader.” – Charlie Kanzig These businesses have joined The Nugget in supporting our youth and their accomplishments by co-sponsoring the Student of the Month program. 260 N.
