Pono Farm offers a wide selection of locally raised Wagyu beef, heritage pork and pastured eggs. All meats sold in the shop are sourced from their farm in Central Oregon that is committed to raising their animals slowly and naturally without the use of hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or animal-based feed. All meat is butchered, cured, processed, and smoked in-house. Customers can choose from a selection of fresh, cured, or smoked meat products. Since they utilize the whole animal, specialty cuts can be ordered in advance. Pono Farm is open Tuesday through Saturday, serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For 38 years, Sisters Cascade of Gifts has been offering something for everyone — locals and tourists alike. They are famous around the world for their homemade fudge — there’ nothing like it to be found anywhere else, and people make special trips to Sisters just to get some. There’s an eclectic selection of gift items of all kinds, from home décor to music boxes and Sisters-made jewelry. Smokey Bear memo- rabilia is a particular specialty — and the Forest Service sends folks to Sisters Cascade of Gifts to fi nd everything from belt buckles to fi gurines to T-shirts to charming stuffed bears. Many gift items are locally made, so you can take a piece of Sisters home with you. Sisters Cascade of Gifts is also a rare business oppor- tunity. Owner Virginia Patskowski is ready to retire and is looking to sell the business to someone who will be excited to carry on this wonderful Sisters tradition. The prospect of repair or replacement is dauntingly expensive. Turn to Drainfi eld Restoration Services. As Central Oregon’s ONLY factory-trained Terralift operator, they can restore your drainfi eld’s function for a fraction of the cost of replacement, without excavation and destroying expensive landscaping. Drainfi eld Restoration’s equipment injects air and polystyrene beads into the ground, restoring that soil’s original capacity for in- fi ltration. They can also jet out lines and remove tree roots that are often the culprit in drainfi eld problems in Sisters Country. It’s a one- day project, and they warranty their work. In business since 1995, Drainfi eld Restoration has saved hun- dreds of clients thousands of dollars across the state of Oregon. For tips visit www.RestoreYourSeptic.com. Central Oregon Eyecare Children with uncorrected vision conditions or eye health prob- lems face many barriers in life – academically, socially, and athleti- cally. High-quality eyecare can break down these barriers and help enable your children to reach their highest potential. A comprehensive eye examination is very important for children. Early detection and treatment provide the very best opportunity to correct vision problems, so your child can learn to see clearly. Make sure your child has the best possible tools to learn successfully. When should my child get their eyes checked? At six months old; three years old; upon entering school (fi ve years old); yearly there- after. The doctor will be looking for common eye problems like refrac- tive disorders (nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism), amblyopia (decreased vision in one or both eyes that’s often called lazy eye), and strabismus (eye misalignment).
