Police report that last Sunday at approximately 6:07 p.m., officers from the RedmondPoliceDepartment, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, and Oregon State Policerespondedtothe2800 block of S.W. PumiceAve. toadisputethatstartedover twovehiclesspeedingupand down the street. During the disputeaphysicalaltercation tookplaceanditwasalleged asuspectpointedahandgun atthevictimbeforeretreating into2812S.W.PumiceAve. Officers surrounded the residence and were able to detain six people, includ- ing Logan Jansen, 23, from Klamath Falls. During the initial investigation Jansen was arrested and taken to The Outlaws hosted the No. 6-ranked Junction City TigersonTuesday,February 16,andwalkedoffthecourt with a 52-37 victory. Two days later, the Outlaws defeated the Falcons in a 50-44roadwin. OnTuesday,theOutlaws honored seniors Hayes Moore, Steen Johnson, ConnorLake,ScottWaddell andAndrewAljets(manager) prior to the game, and also paidspecialtributetoRandy Burdickforhislong-timeser- vicetoSistersbasketballand athletics. Sisterscameintothegame against the Tigers ready to play,andplayedhardforall four quarters. The Outlaws jumpedtoanearlyleaddue to good shooting and solid defense.Sistersheldan18-10 lead at the close of the first quarter and entered the half with a commanding 30-14 advantage. TheOutlawsonlyputup fourpointsinthethird,while theTigerswereabletoscore 11. Sisters overcame the third-periodlull,chargedback inthefinalquarter,andbeat theTigersby15. Eight different players scored points in the game, andatotalteameffortearned thewin. Coach Rand Runco said, “Weareagoodteamandwe really played together. We keptourturnoversdownand were 78 percent (14-for-18) from the line. It was a big teamwin.” TylerHeadhadabiggame fortheOutlawswith16points and seven rebounds. Steen DeschutesCountyJailwhere he was lodged for Unlaw- ful Use of a Weapon and Menacing. Officers applied forandweregranted search warrants for the residence. During the execution of the search warrants, officers locatedthehandgunbelieved tohavebeenusedbyJansen. Officers also located a short-barreled shotgun and arifle.Informationgathered during the investigation led officers to believe Mathew Morkert,23,fromRedmond and a convicted felon, had beeninpossessionoftherifle and shotgun. Morkert was later located at 1515 N.W. FirAve.#18,Redmond,and taken to Deschutes County Jail for probation viola- tion, felon in possession of a firearm (two counts), and unlawful possession of a short-barreled firearm.
