Vants. of Jacksonville, Flor ida, wrote Secretary of State Olcott requesting a copy of the banking laws of the state. Mr. Vants is thinking of locating in Oregon and Is desirous of finding a suitable loca tion for a bank. Stock at the Bllgh- . I.ee Willard, well known to Salem theater-goers, was in the city today, and has completed arrangements with, Mr. Bligh for putting on two plays a week at the latter's pretty little theater, playing stock for two or more weeks. Mr. Willard was last seen here In "A Poor Relation" about three years ago. With his company, he has been playing stock In Seattle this season but condi tions there Just now compelled him to quit for a short time. Mr. Wil lard Is a talented actor, and savs he has a fine company and good list of plays. Thanksgiving Concert The allied German societies will give a folk song concert at the Ar mory Thanksgiving evening, conclud ing with a dance. S. custom "service In Portland. He will he remembered by many Salem people as one of the popular employes of the P R. L. & P. company, when he lived here about six years ago. dark Pardoned At the request of Captain Ryan, of the Salvation Army, W. E. Clark, who was recently sentenced ' to jail tor 25 days for disturbing a Salvation Army meeting, was today given a conditional pardon by Governor West. the I. W. W. say they do not indorse Clark's methods and will hereafter do their own talking and without in dulging in abuse.
