Be It Ordained by the Common Coun cil of.the City of Salem, Oregon. Setlon 1. That the sum of $2500.00 or so much thereof as may be neces sary, be and the same Is hereby ap propriated out of the money In the general fund In the city treasury not otherwise appropriated for the support and maintenance of a Salem band. Section 2. That the expenditure of the money hereby appropriated be and the same Is hereby entrusted In the hands of a special committee to be appointed by the Common Council for tht purpose, said committee to have the power and it shall be their duty to enter into a contract with some suitable person or persons to maintain a band.
