Darrow, chief counsel for the defense in the Moyer, Pettlbone and Haywood trial, will arrive In Los An geles to take up the defense of the McaXmara brothers within the next 10 days. The question as to his coming, which has been the subject of much comment in local circles, was settled definitely by a telegram received at the offlcs of Harrlman and Ryckman at noon today. The telegram states: "Expect to start next week." It Is not known at the local head quarters of the defense whether a conference has been held between Darrow and Attorney Rappaport, who left for the East last week, tak ing with him a copy of the evidence given before the grand Jury. It is statd here that Rappaport went East with the intention of talk ing over the situation with Darrow. It is expected that Rappaport will not return before June 1, In time to be present for the plea on the ar raignment which Is set for that date. He may stay In the East and work on the case from that end while Dar row will take hold of the local situa tion and direct the operations of the defense from Los Angeles. Job Harrlman left last night for San Francisco- where he will remain several days. As a re sult of a quarrel aa to whether Gen eral Navarro shall be shot, it is re ported here that Madero has been ar rested, and his provisional cabinet has resigned. Generals Orozco and Villa seek the death of Navarro. Madero's opposi tion, it Is said, caused the break. It Is reported that Madero was af terwards released.
