Tho committee on streets reported tho Wlllson Avenue Improvements un der way, but objection was entered by Alderman Bayne and led to a lively donate. Tho committee claimed that It had tho power under the resolution to let the contract for tho building of the sidewalk and curbing, but this was denied and the bids wore asked for Evory thing wns harmony after a time and the Improvements will be made after the contract Is signed by the mayor. Alderman Gosner doslrod to know the standing Of the voters within tho city llmlU under the new primary law and offered the suggestion that the city recorder make Inquiry concern ing this Important matter. Recorder Judah volunteored to do the work and will propare a report lh a short time. The question of Improving Court street with crushed rock was consid ered and a committee consisting of Mayor Waters, Aldermen Crossan and Hughes was appointed to Investigate tho cost. The committee on ordinances was Instructed to draft ordinances for tho extension of the present fire limits if the city to conform to tho new city limits and for tho extension of the cement sidewalk district. Tho committee on lights asked for further tlmo to consider the bids for lighting tho city, and It was granted. u Special Excursion to St. Louis. August 8, 9 and 10, September 5, G and 7 and October 3 4 and 5 are tho remaining dates upon which tick ets will bo sold at' the reduced ratos to tho St. Louis fair. Theso ratos apply over tho Denver and Rio Grande and Missouri Pacific. For the pat rons of these roads special excursion cars will be run through from Port land and St Louis without change See the many points of Interest about the -Mormon capital and take a ride through nature's picture gallery.
