"It Makes a Difference" ASK YOUR DEALER Bishop Meade, of Denver, addressed a full house at Asbury church Sunday evening, lie made use of the scrip ture in the second cnapter ol Marks: gospel which deals with new wines in old wine skins and new patches on old j garments. After comparing methods of fighting in the recent war with those of the civil war, he told some startling things about rnodern medicine and surgerv compared with the old ways. The discourse centered about the new methods of Christian churches. Of the 13,000,000 enlisted men, 80 per cent had no connection or interest in religion. Something Is evidently wrong with the methods of the 'hristian churches, declared Bishop Meade. He then told of some of the constructive work done for young people in churches at the present time. Gymnasiums, rooms for social affairs, music clubs i have led, not only the young people. but their parents to trive their lives in Christian service, said he. Riverside church and the churches at Odell and Pine Grove were dismissed so that their congregations might attend. COTTAGES BUILT FOR MOTOR TOURISTS Mrs. J. W. torbes and Mrs. Lou Danforth have launched a new enter prise lor the accommodation ot visit ing motor tourists. Treichel, of Caldwell Ida., a check for $25 as a reward for the recovery of his automobile. The machine was stolen while Mr. Treichel was fishing in Malheur county. He was awa.i on a stream, the automobile parked fn a canyon. Mr. Murray lo cated the machine near Cascade Locks. The driver, supposedly the thief, had gone for gasoline, his supply exhaust ed. He grew suspicious and did not return. Sunday Mr. Murray apprehended W. ft. Knight, of Corbett, whose car was left standing in Cascade Locks with the motor running. TrafFord E. Smith was operating his car Saturday night without sufficient light to Jreveal kthe rear license ! plate. E. A. LThe insect causing the damage is a light green, piny caterpillar. It feeds on the un der sideof the.leaves, causing a seri ous ragging, in some cases the com plete loss of the leaves.
