Perhaps most of your "bnd luck" consists in failing to answer the want ads that contain opportunities for von. STATKIIOl'SF, Salem, Or., Feb. 14. Raising the sularies of all cir cuit judges in Oregon to $1000 a year is the plan of the lawyers in the leg islature. During the noon recess a joint meeting of the senate judicial y and revision of laws committees was held and they unanimously favored a bill, to be introduced this after noon, which will give all the circuit judges the samo pay. Tlie vacation squad of the circuit bench in Multnoninh county receives $3000 a year from the state and $1000 from the county, mnking their salary $4000. Several other judges in various districts receive that sum, the $3000 of the state being swelled by contributions from the counties in their circuits. Judge Campbell, for instance, receives $'J50 a year from ench of the following ceunties: Clat sop, Columbia, Clnckanias and Wasn- ington, while Judge Kukin. who is n judge in the same circuit, receives only bis $3000 from the state. Many other inequalities in the pay of judges were cited in the joint com mittee and there were said to be judges who have been on the bench twice as long as some others, yet do not draw as much money.
