Au epidemic of chicken thievery seems to have broken out at Weston. Boys of 15 or 16 are aooused of steal ing chickens from different yards, about town and selling them for what tbey will bring. The names of the culprits are kuowu, aud it would be well for them to avoid arrest aud punishment by respecting the property rights of other people. Ferguson, who has beeu the representative of Uncle Sam in the postofHce at Adams for the past 17 ' years, has tendered his resignation aud expects to leave iu a few days fortius new home in Helix. J. H. Kirby, who lately returned from Gillam county, but who was for years a resident of Adams, has sent iu an application foi tbe appointment, and will no doubt be soon tbe only legal postmaster of Adams.
