A strong demonstration has been made in favor of the pro posed interstate bridge between Oregon and Washington, cross ing the Columbia River at Van couver. Joint committees from the two state Legislatures went over the site chosen for the Structure and looked carefully into the merits of the project. At a later meeting in Portland, attended by citizens of both states, very strong support was aroused for the bridge and it seems likely the nlan will be accomplished. It stands for experience, know ledge, wisdom, counsel. That is old age as it should be, but old age as it often is means poor di gestion, torpid bowels, a sluggish liver and a general feeling of ill health, despondency and misery. This in almost every instance is wholly unnecessary. One of Chamberlain's Tablets taken im mediately after supper will im prove the digestion, tone up the liver and regulate the bowels. That feeling of despondency will give way to one of hope and good cheer. For sale by all dealers. Petiloon for Liquor Licanee. I'KIOB OOCHKAN Boy's Corn Club Contests Boy's Corn Club Contests that was started a few years ago by Secretary Wilson through the Bureau of Plant Industry of the U. S. Department of agriculture, have become so successful and popular in the South that the movement has become national in character. A recent circular of the Bureau of Thud Industry is an interesting contribution to the subject "The national corn club is an important factor," says the cir cular, 'in directing rural boys to the business of farming as a pro fitable and noble profession. The boys are needed for the efficiency of the farm and their work and leadership must be had if Ameri can agriculture is to keep step with the march of civilization." In connection with organizing and directing clubs the circular says: "Every premium offered for contests and also corn-club work should have for its main interest the promotion and encourage ment of the regular club work. The premium should represent the greatest need and interest of the corn-club membership; it must teach the I dewpoint of the club work .'ncouag., both members and leaders to be progressive and constructive in their work, and it should serve to increase the club members' in terest for farm life. ( tub leaders, county superin tendents, teachers, anil others interested m promoting agricul tural and rural-home interests should lose no opportunity to have dub exhibit! and interests recognised effectively at county, district and State fairs. County farmers' institutes, short courses, and teachers sssodaUons are ex cellent mediums for promoting the club WOfk, and an exhibit of club products, special contests, e. says, and general discussions on phases of the work should 00 copy some place and time duritii! the regolai session." The Ladies Aid Society of the Presbyterian Church is planning for the annual Kaster Sale which will be given on Saturday, March. 'Jiitl in Mr. McConnel's offices. Tonawama Bldg.
