Collision on the High Seas. New Yoek. Oct. 3. A special cable to the World from St. Pierre, Miquelon. .says: The transatlantic, Geographic, of the Ros3iere line, Captain Pansen com manding, bound from Montreal to South ampton with cattle, sheep and "a cargo of general merchandise, which left Sydney Tuesday, collided with the Nova Scotia vessel, -Minnie Swift forty miles off St. Pierre yesterday morning. The Minnie Swift sank within two minutes, drown ing, as nearly as can be ascertained, two women, three children and ten men. The others, with a part of the crew of a Norwegian vessel, who had previously been picked up, pot on board tne steamer, which, despite all efforts, also sank, at 11 o'clock a. ai. Two boats, containing about thirty- live persons, which put on irom tuo steamer early in the morning, are still missing. A third boat, With the captain and fif teen others, was picked up by the schooner Sister Bell, and brought to St. Pieree. Foundered at Sea. New Yoek, Oot. 3. A dispatch to the Maritime Exchange, dated Nassau, Sep tember 30, announces that the British steamer EarnihoYe, from Baltimore for Bio Janiero, foundered at sea in a gale September 5. All hands were lost, ox cept seven. The total loss was about twenty-eight. The storm which prevailed early in September struck the Earnmore when she was off the "West Indies. On the 5th of September the ship had to be aban doned, and two boats were launched. First officer Painter and second engineer Melldrum and five seamen were in one boat, and Captain Gray, two officers and sixteen of the crew in the long boat. This boat has not been heard from. A oablegram from St. James says that the small boat has arrived, but the five sailors are tin a dying condition. It is barely p&ssible that those in the long boat may have been picked up by some vessel. Incomplete returns from all counties in Washington save Douglas.
