This medicine is an Alterative, and causes a radical change in the system. The process, in some cases, may not he quite so rapid as in others ; hut, with persistence, the result Is certain. Read these testimonials : " For two years I suffered from a se vere pain in my right side, and had other troubles caused by a torpid liver and dyspepsia. After giving several medicines a fair trial without a cure, I began to take Ayer's Sarsaparilla. I was greatly benefited by the nrst bottle, and after taking five bottles I was com pletely cured." John W. Benson, 70 Lawrence st., Lowell, Mass. Last May a large carbuncle broke out on my arm. The usual remedies had no effect and I was confined to my bed for eight weeks. A friend induced me to try Aver's Sarsaparilla. Less than threo bottles healed the sore. . Iu all my expe rience with medicine, I never saw mow Wonderful Results. Another marked effect of tho use of this medicine was the strengthening of my sight." Mrs. Carrie Adams, Holly Springs, Texas. " I had a dry scaly humor for years, and suffered terribly ; and. as ray broth er and sister were similarly afflicted, I presume the malady is hereditary. La9t winter, Dr. Tyron, (of Fernandina, Fla.,) recommended me to take Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and continue it for a year, For five months I took it daily. I have not had a blemish upon my body for tha last three months." T. E. Wiley, 148 Chambers st., New York City. " Last fall and winter I was troubled with a dull, heavy pain in my side. I did not notice it much at first, but it gradually grew worse until it became almost unbearable." During the latter part of this time, disorders of the stom ach and liver increased my troubles. X began taking Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and, after faithfully continuing the use oi this medicine for some months, the paiq disappeared and I was completely cured." Mrs. Augusta A. The Triumpu entered Bearing sea July 3rd, and had boisterous weather up to the 11th. That dBy was nearly calm. At 8 in the afternoon of the 11th, she was ordered by the American cutter RtisJi to heave to, as men wished to come aboard. The schooner was go ing about four knots and the RusJi about eight. A boat containing three officers and six men came alongside. Lieutenant Tuttle, of the Rush came aboard, and the balance remained in the boat alongside. Tuttle asked if they any seals, as he had orders to seize the vessel if she had. McLean said no. Tuttle made a personal search, and found nothing but eight months' supplies. He then advised McLean to leave Behring sea, and told him he had seized the British vepsel Black Diamond four hours previously. This was the first seizure. He intended strictly to enforce the president's proclamation to seize any vessels found sealing in Behring sea. McLean considered it beat quietly to spread his wings for home. A prize crew was put aboard the Diamond and she was sent to Oun alaska. The schooner's orew will be sent to Sitka. Probably by this time a large num ber of seizures has been made, as the sealing fleet was in that vicinity. The news has created consternation here, as it was not considered that any seizures would be made. The Dia mond was seized about sixty miles west of St. Paul's islands. H. M. S. Champion leaves for the north this morning to join the bal ance of her majesty's fleet. She will convey the news to Admiral Heueage. The Rush had a hawser ready to tow the Triumph. The Triumph is about tho finest vessel of the Victoria fleet She carried thirty-one men, and wasownedTby E. 0. Baker. M. P.. of Victoria. Ayer's Ague Cure "breaks up" chills and fever, expels malarial poi sons from the system, and restores health. Warranted to cure. Bell, the South Carolina imposter, tells the negroes that each of them must have a pair of wings, price $5, for the "rise" on Judgment Day, and be has taken iu a great many $5 bills. If he were to bo arrested now it is said that 500 negroes would go upon his bond. Children Cry for Pitcher's Castoria JVhen Baby was sick, re gave her Castoria. But a few days later he put the worthless shells in the cookstove with some kindling wood, and. he bad a Fourth of July and a circus all in one. A patient waiter is no loser in some cases but in this affair the man lost a $19 cookstove and a tea kettle. Dr. Acker's English pills are aposujrecure ior sicK-neaaactieand all 'liver .troubles. They are small, sweet, easly taken and do not gripe. J. W. Conn, Druggist A Notable "Dry Spell." The "dry spell" of 18S9 will co down in history as a year when the world suffered for water at least on thi3 aide of America. The Salem lumber mills have shut down, with four millions of logs lying on the banks of the Luckiamute waiting for water to rise and float them. Mills at Eugene City and Albany tell the same story. All have logs cut but cannot get them floated down the streams. The water has not been high enough to ruu logs since last year. The Salem mill offers 87 per M. and vainly supposed that would induce some euterprising man to pro cure the logs. This is the more to be regretted as there is a lively de mand for lumber and all that can be sawed could be sold at a good figure. The lucky fellows are the ones who have country mills and own their own timber. A couple of lively fellows, brothers, bought a timber patch near Salem and built a mill there. They got the land low and will make handsomely on the lumber they will saw. The land without the forest will be worth, much more than it originally cost and the lumber will pay a big figure. They use steam and own the fir trees, aud others like them will secure a good harvest during the dry time with the rivers. Tho bogus naturalization papers of a batch of twenty-three foreigners have been set aside by judge Jamie- son of Chicago, and the mau who falsely sworo that he had known all of the applicants for five years has been sent to serve a sentence of three years in prison. When your liver is-but or order your whole system is deranged. Your lflooi' Is impure, breath offensive, you have headache, feel languid, dispirited .iiid nervous. The Ualtinuiie "Episcopal Methodist" says "Simmons liiver Regu lator is acknowledged to have no equal as a liver medicine, containing those Soutlii-rn roots and herbs which an all wise Providence has placed in countries where liver diseases prevail." Politicians are already beginning to figure on the reapportionment of congressmen which will follow the taking of the census of 1890. Under our present apportionment there will be, when the four new states are rep resented, 329 or 330 members of con gress, one to every 152,000 people. Under the previous apportionment the number of members was 293, and under the one1 before that 2-43. Bticlclen'sArmrn Salrc.
