It is claimed that the new twin screw steamship of the Gnion line now building, will reach Qneenstown from New York in five days. General Jons C. Fremont once gave some good advice as to the course to be pursued by a candidate for pub lic office. This was to "shut his mouth and throw away his pen.' It is reported that the first of Da kota tin was put through the new smelting process at Rapid City suc cessfully, and plans for the erection of large works for treating tin are in course of execution. As East Wareham fisherman re cently caught at the Agawam river weir, between sunrise and sunset, with a dip-net, 80,000 herrings, or 220 barrels, worth i a barrels in the Boston market as bait for deep-sea fishing. . . The New York Mail and Express estimates that one in ten of the young girls and women who land friendless and without occupation at Castle Garden becomes lost in the mael strom of vice that surges among the great American cities. The Michigan Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional the local option law which has just gone into effect in that state. An error in the bill is the ground for the decision, which was rendered by the court without a single dissenting opinion. High license will now be the rule. .... 1 M The Turks have, as one of their frequent petitions, a prayer which non-heathens would do well to heed the significance of. They pray to their God that Christians may never settle their controversies. They rec ognize the destructive tendency of internal strife, and know that while the adherents of the Christian faith are quarreling among themselves over questions of doctrine they, tho follow ers of the prophet, are safe. With the disappearance of the fa mous cattle trail from Texas to the north an interesting relic of pioneer days will bo lost This trail was 600 miles long and one mile wide, and when the original survey of Colorado was made this strip was left for the use of the cattlemen. Hundreds of thousands of cattle have been driven along the trail, but the railroads have rendered it useless, andjit is now to be thrown open to settlement, A Warning. The modes of death's approach are various, and statistics show conclu sively that moro persons dio from dis eases of tho Throat and Lungs than any other. It is probable that every one, without exception, receives vast numbers of Tubercle Germs into the system and where these germs fall upon suitable soil they start into life and develop, at first slowly and is shown by a slight tickling sensation in the throat and if allowed to con tinue their ravages they extend to tho lungs producing Consumption and to the head, causing Catarrh. Now all this is dangerous and if allowed to proceed will in time caueo death. At the onset you must act with prompt ness; allowing a cold to go without your attention is dangerous and may lose you your life. As soon as you feel that something is wrong with your Throat, Lungs or Nostrils, ob tain a bottle of Boschee's German Syrup. It will give you immediate relief. A Statement From Ben Yonns.
