Jefferson reels MARTIN OLSEN. Spirited Difference of Opinion. The education of Kentucky youth is not neglected even in the finer points of etiquette. Profes sor Clarke, a friend of higher edu cation and superintendent ot pub lic schools at Henderson, Ken tucky, paid an official visit to the high school at that place last week He was received by Professor Thomas Posey, principal of the high school, with true southern courtesy, and taken through the rooms. Professor Clarke expressed great satisfaction until Profes&or Posey's arithmetic class was reached. Master Tommy Corwin being called on for recitation, be gan: "Two times two are four " Is four, " gentiy interrupted Pro fessor Clarke; "two times two is four." "Are four, Tommy,'' cor rected Professor Posey, with some asperity. At this direct snub Pro fessor Clarke flushed, then turned pale, and reached back toward his coat-tails as lit lose from his seat. But Pic feasor Posey had the ad vantage of being already on Irs feet. He pulled his gun and fired at Professor Clarke, dropping him so neatly that he never stirred. " Arc four. Tommy,'' repeated Professor Posey. The affair has cast a gloom over Henderson, but the citizens do not see how Pro fessor Posey could have acted oth erwise than he did.
