The H". & 0. Eailroad. Reno, New, June 8. The ex tension of the Nevada and Cali fornia railroad is to be built so that it can be changed from a three-foot to a standard guage in one day's time, says the Gazetti. The cuts, banks and bridges will bo extra wide and heavy. The ties will be eight feet long instead of six, and tho rails 35-pojnd steel, so, if the business justifies, il can be made a part of the main over land roads at any time it connects with the Oregon Short Line or the Northern Pacific and give western Nevada an outlet. There is no doubt at all about the means being abundant in the hands of the own ers of the road and Colonel Heriot, their general manager and agent, is an enthusiastic advocate of a rapid e.xtenson until a connection is made.
