Detailed ac counts have been received here to-day of some of the most shame ful evictions ever recorded in the historv of Ireland, at Glenbeiir, countv Kerrv. on the estate of the d:u. tt ' . i. t!j w: i jailjuu jLiuuuruoie xvoiauu num. ihe time chosen for ejectment was in the midst of a pitiless tempest of wind, snow and rain. The un fortunate tenants were driven out in the pelting storm without a board to shelter them and then, to prevent the possibility of their re turning, bailiffs proceeded to set fire to their cottages, which were soon-in a blaze and reduced to ruins. Winn is an implacable tory and resolved apparently on extreme measures. Negro hands have been found valuable in the new cotton mills of the south. They take readily to the light work and endure the hot and close air of the mills better than the white employes. The negro exodus in Alabama leads the Montgomery Advertiser to urge a system for inducing im migration to that state, and the editor remarks that "it would be better to have Chinese than no labor at all." The cotton crop in Mexico this year will amount to about 30, 000,000 pounds, and as 10,000,000 pounds a month are required to supply the mills of that country, the deficit will have to be im ported from the United States. 1&OlV.CC That. ,aro fretfu1' a-vj vss peevish, cross, or troubled with.
