Tbe baseball game at the school house grounds in this city last Suuday between the Hardman nine and the Heppner High School boys was won by the Hepp nr boys by a score of 13,to 11. Tbe Hardman boys up to the sixth inning were ahead, the Heppner bovs pulling out in the latter part of tbe game. Heppner business men have already commenced the work of making ar rangements for a big Fourth ot July celebration. The different committees will be appointed in a short time. Tbe celebration in Heppner last year was a great success and brought a Urge num ber of people. No effort will be spared to m ke the coming celebration better than last year. Dipping was commenced Sunday at tbe Heppner dipping vats. About 6,000 head of cheep were run tLrough the vats Sunday, having been purchased bv F. C. Oxman, who shipped them out Monday morning. Five thousand head of the sheep were purchased from the Penland Land & Livestock company, J. L. Howard brought in 800 and I). O. Justus drove in 500 head. Tbe dipping plant will be started again next Friday on sheep which will be shipped by JRea Bros. W. E. Royse was thrown from a horse last Thursday and was quite se riously injured. Mr. Royts was in the hospital for several days. He is now able to be cut again. Fur five minutes next Sunday at 11 a. m., the boys and girls at the M. E. church will receive "Flowers" from the Castor, and the sermon following will ask"Are we Neighbors on the Road to Jericho?" The evening sermon at 8 o'clock will show "How Little is an Of fente Against Man Along With Offense Against God." A phonograph sacred concert will conclude the evening ser vice. Welcome. Ten thousand head of sheep were whipped out of Echo last Saturday by Rea Bros., of Montana, which were pur chased from R. N. Stanfiell, Anton Vy and William- Slusher. They re ceived $2.25 to $3 40 per head for them. The sheep had just ben sheared, most of them being yearling, only a few wethers being in the ljt. Tn Tuesday of thh week another bunch of young sheep were shipped by the same parties. Echo Register. All pending applications for such lands under which sales have not heretofore been ordered are hereby rej jcted, and you are directed to notify the applicant hereof; and hereafter you will not re ceive and forward any applications for such sales which are not supported by the oath herein required.
