Notice la hereby Riven that at a regular meeting of the Common Council of The City of Pendleton held om March 27th, 1912, the following resolution were adopted: . Whereas, the Surveyor of The Olty of Pendleton, did on the 20th day of March, 1912, under direction and by requirement of the Common Council file plans and specifications for an appropriate improvement of Court street, in The City of Pendleton from Brers' mill race to the eastern limits of said City; together with the esti mates of the work to be done and the probably cost thereof, with a state ment of the lots, parts of lots and parcels of land to be benefited by such improvement, and the percent age of the total cost of improvement which each of such lota, parts of lots and parcels of land should pay on account of the benefits to be derived from such improvement; and Whereas, the Council has examined such plans and specifications and found the same satisfactory and the estimates therefor to be in accordance with the probable cost of such work; and Whereas, the property recommended by the City Surveyor to be included within the boundaries of the district benefited is, in the judgment of the Common council, properly to be in cluded within such Improvement dis trict, and no property Is excluded therefrom which should properly be Included therein; and . Whereas, the Improvement of the hereinbefore described portion of said Court street by macadamizing the same la at this time necessary; therefore, be It Resolved, by the Common Council of The City of Pendleton that It is ex pedient to improve and It is hereby proposed to Improve Court street in The City of Pendleton from Byers' mill race eastward to the eastern lim its of said City by macadamizing the name, such macadamizing to be twenty-four feet in width, being twelve feet on each side of the center line of sail portion of Court street, and in accordance with the plans and speci fications therefor, prepared by Geary Klrabrel.l, City Surveyor, which were filed with the Recorder of said City on March 20th, 1912, which plana and specifications are hereby particular ly referred to; and be it further ' Resolved, that the plans and speci fications and estimates for such Im provement, as prepared by the City Surveyor and filed with the Recorder of The City of Pendleton on the 20th day of March, 1912, be and they are hereby approved and adopted; and be it further Resolved, that the cost of making such Improvement shall be a charge and lien upon all lots, parts of lota and parcels of land to be benefited by such Improvement, and the owners of such lots, parts of lots and parcels of land so specially benefited by such Improvement shall be liable for the payment of the costs thereof; and be It further Resolved, that an assessment dls trict Is hereby created to be known as Assessment District No. 8, em brae ing the property to be assessed for the payment of such improvement, which assessment district shall In clude all lots, parts of lots and par cels of land lying and being within the district bounded and described as follows, to-wlt: Commencing at a point 12 feet east of the southeast corner of Block 87 Reservation Addition to the Town of Peadleton, Oregon, thence westerly parallel with the center line of the O.-W. (From Monday's Journal.) The situation in the cattle trade at North Portland Is extremely good and prices are holding very firm at 87. This Is a rise of 10c. Even dur ing the morning there were sales as high as 6. 906.95, or the full of last week's market. Run of cattle for the day totaled 613 head compared with 678 last Monday and 965 on this same day a year ago. At that time there was an advance of a dime In the cat tle trade with tops selling a nickel under the present market. Cattle) from Montana. The recent sending of a representa tive of the Portland stockyards into Montana has caused supplies to come forward from there and this morning some stock was showing from Monida.
