Beeson. a motorman an hour later. After he escaped Jose got on a street car, still carrying the diamonds. Beeson sus pected he was wanted and after knocking him down called the police. Hoskins, who was in the city yesterday to prove up on his home stead near the Hermlston reservoir, is a man who makes a good deal of ex tra money by trapping copotes. Last year he brought in 58 scalps to the county clerk for bounty and so far this year has caught 18 of the pre datory animals. Laing Is making a second attempt to secure a divorce from her husband, Arthur Laing, her first suit being denied both hy the circuit court and the supreme court. The basis of her action is alleged desertion, her complaint citing that her husband has not cohabltated with her since 1907 and has not since that year contribut ed to her support. She asks besides a decree of divorce the custody of her eleven year old child, Edith I-alng, who is now under the care of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Laing.
