' ' Monday evening delegates; selected from the various' labor organizations of this city mot at Justice Fltz Ger old's ofllce and perfected the organ Ization of the Central Labor Council of Pendleton. ; ' ' The object of this body is to solid ify the different organizations and di rect the efforts of tho local unions in this channel. The council Is composed of three delegates from each union already formed and will also havo three from each yet to be .organized. All mat ters In local unionism which affect other unions will bo referred to the council for final adjudication; In fact It is to be tho court of last resort for local unions. Officers and Committee. Officers foi the ensuing term were elected as, follows; President, C. W McLyman; vice-president, W. S. Brown; secretary J. A. Allen; treas urer, Samuel Neil; sorgeant-at-arms. William Dupuys; conductor, G. W. McDowell. Tho president pro-tem. Mr. Lynn, appointed the following .committees: ,On organization W. S. Brown, W. J. McDowell and M. C. Kaufman. On constitution and by-laws A. W Fuller, Ed Weaver and J. C. Thomp son. The followinc unions were repre sohted at tho meeting; Clerks, print ers, painters, cigar makers. Hotel ami restaurant employes alllanco and wool sorters and , graders. Another meeting, will ho held at Justice Fitz Gerald's ofllce on Fri day evening of this week at which tho organization will be completed and application made to tho Ameri can 'Federation for a charter. Cooks' and Walters' Union. The cooks and waiters of Pendle ton have formed an organization known as the Hotel and Restaurant Employes' Alllanco. and have applied to their international for a charter They start out with a good member Ship and much enthusiasm. The following officers have been elected: President, H. II. Beste; vice-president, W. S. Brown; secre taryitreasuror, J. E. Plnson; inspec tor, Guy McDowell; chaplain, Chas Baker; inside guard, E. W. Emerson. A committee on organization has been appointed and is doing good work in securing new members. The organization meets every Wednesday afternoon at .2:30 o'clock. Prospective Unions. ATnnMmrs will bo held some time iinrlncr thn week for the barbers, bar. tenders, carpenters and blacksmiths for the nurnose of organizing unions of these crafts.
