Giltner, secretary of the Port land Chamber of Commerce, says that that body has requested all members of the Oregon delegation to extend every possible aid for Pro ject No. 1 for the improvement of Coos Bay harbor. MISS NELL McINTOSH arrived to day from Coqullle and she and her mother will leave soon for Portland where they will spend the balance of the winter. JOSHUA NELSON, a former well known pioneer of Coos Bay, re turned today from an extended, stay at Portland and other north ern points. J. E. LYONS of the Coos Bay Steam Laundry, will leave on tho Break water for Portland and other points north to look after busi ness matters. JOHN BRIDGES and wife, who have been In Portland for somo time, arrived hero on the Breakwater today and it is understood that they will make their home here. J. D. MEREEN, who is visiting friends hero expects to leave on tho Nann Smith next week for Berkeley, Cal., where he will spend Christmas with the family who recently moved there from Minneapolis. W. E. HENRY G. PLOEGER wont to Marshfield to have an operation performed on tho stump of his. right arm and which has been giv ing him much pain for several years past. His surgeon thinks that a slight operation will seivo to correct tho trouble Myrtlo Point Enterprise. ANDREW WICKMAN of Empire, re- turned this morning from Tillamook where he went in hopes of being able to recover the body of his brdther, Henry Wickman, who lost his life while trying to aid tho passengers of the Argo who was wrecked there a few weeks ago. All efforts to recover tho ' body were futile. J. R. GOOD of Boise, arrived hero today to look after business inter-, ests. He and Guy C. Bnrnum, who arrived hero a few weeks ago, will try and straighten out somo matters realtlvo to the Boise Ad dition in which they are tho prin cipal owners and also to arrange for the construction pf the draw bridge and road leading from Marshfield to that district.
