A copy of the agreement has been re ceived at the department. Of the 10 articles ot the agree ment, the first provides: "Both par ties agree "to remove forthwith all obstacles hitherto placed in the way of the resumption of trade Between the United Kingdom and Russia in any commodities (other than arms and ammunition) which may be legally-exported or imported. Articles nine and ten state that "the British governent declares that they will not take or encourage any steps with a view to attaching or tak ing possession of any gold, securities or commodities which may be ex ported by Russia in payment for im ports or as security for such pay ment.' Purchasers Pay $5,000,000 for Property and Assume Obliga tions Totaling $141,173,000. DENVER. Nov. 20. On the 60th an niversary of the organization of the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad com pany today all the property and hold ings of the organization were sold to three men representing the Western Pacific Railway corporation for $5,000,000. The purchasers also as sumed obligations of the Denver & Rio Grande amounting to $141,173,000 The sale completely wipes out the stock of the Denver & Rio Grande, amounting to $87,775,670, according to John F. Bowie of New .York, general counsel for the Western Pacific and one of the three purchasers. The others associated with him were John B. Marsh and Ralph M. Arkush, both of New York. The road was sold to satisfy a judg ment of $36,000,000 obtained by the Equitable Trust company pt New York as trustee for holders of bonds issued by the Western Pacifie Rail road company and guaranteed by the Denver & Rio Grande. The sale is subject to confirmation by the United States district court. Mr. Bowie announced that, although the Western Pacific Railroad corpora tion now owns both the Western Pa cific and Denver & Rio Grande rail roads, the lines would be operated separately. "The first consideration of the new owners of the Rio Grande will be the expenditure of approximately $12, 000,000 for putting the property in first-class shape and purchasing new equipment. Including power," he said. "This will Include new machine shops at a cost of upwards of .0(0,000." Robert Chrislnger's Idea of having a good time was to peer through a hole in the wall of his room at 395 Sixth street and watch women room ers at that address taking baths. But his curiosity landed him in jail on a charge of disorderly conduct when Motorcycle Patrolmen Stiles and Tul ley answered an emergency call to Chrislnger's Sixth-street address. Mrs. W. B. Rose, who has an apart ment in the house, entered strenuous objections against having a spectator looking In while she performed her ablution. It was she who called for the police and caused Chrislnger's ar rest. Shi said she would appear in police court Monday morning as the prosecuting witness. According1 to the arresting officers, Chrisinger had cut a--hole six inches square in the wall of his room, which adjoins the bathroom. It gave him a first-class view of the interior of the bathroom and likewise it may give him a first-class chance of. doing some tall explaining: to Judge Ross man. Just how long Chrisinger had en joyed this "box seat" the police were unable to learn, but the jagged cut in the wall appeared to have been re cently made.
