Peter tog gle, of North Bend, was in Portland yes terday on his' way to Puget Sound on a visit to his relatives there. He attended the meeting of the Willamette Valley De velopment League at Cottage Grove dur ing the week and said yesterday that the proposed railroad extension from Drain to Cons Bay was discussed and fhat much rnthusiasm over the prospect was 'mani fested. In referring to the benefit to be derived by the Coos Bay district from the building of this road, one point appealed to hltn as of paramount importance and that would be the ability to load manu factured products on cars at the bay and have them sent through to Eastern mar kets without rehandllng. ' I.arcb Wafehousb Proposition. Busi ness nien of the city will be interested to know that the large brick warehouse at 13th and Ifoyt streets, has been leased for a term of years by Clay S. Morse, to be used In connection 'with the Overland warehouse for storage purposes. This property enjoying switching privileges places this firm in the front rank fits to facilities for handling all manner of stor age. Countt Win Makd Repairs. County Judge Webster, after a lengthy session on the Bumslde bridge question, yesterday announced that the county would pay for such temporary repairs as would make the structure safe, beginning the work Monday morning. The Oregonlan desires good photo graphs for reproduction in its Sunday Issues. Adequate pay will be made for all that are available, and In every case negatives will be returned to the contributor. The Oregonlan desires pic tures of human interest those which show life in its infinitely varied phases. Scenery, unless striking, "or new. or unique. Is not wanted. Tillamook Head and the fishing rocks on North Beach are trite, but a boy land ing a porgie on the rocks, or a pleasure party on top of the bold headland would be fine. . Pictures of children at Sum mer sports are particularly de sired, not stiffly posed, but in natural attitudes. Keep in mind that overalls and creepers are better subjects than laundered dimity and tailored creations. A boy clad only in a breech-clout making a headlong dive into the water is worth a complete pano-. rama of the Willamette. River, lake and ocean pictures have timely value only if used as a background to Illustrate human action. Broadly speak ing. The Oregonlan wants at tractive pictures that tell their own story. Size of the negative doesn't matter, but It must be clear and sharp. Kodak films three Inches square are avail able. These are enlarged in The Oregonian's photographic room. It is not worth while to send dim or otherwise imperfect nega tives Professional photographers are invited to submit any work they may do within The Oregonian's wants here outlined. Liquor Dbalbrs Disbasd. The Brew ers' and Wholesale Liquor Dealers' As sociation of Portland has disbanded and it Is believed that the organization is permanently at an end. Van Emon. enjoining Van Emon from infringing the patents of the Otis Elevator Company which were the basis of the suit that has long been pending in the United States courts against Van Emon. This suit was de cided in a sweeping decision by United States Judge Whitson upon the final hearing held In January last: Judge Whitson holding the Baxter Patent to be a pioneer Invention, and that the de fendant had clearly Infringed the same in the claims of said patent on which the action was brought.
