KLAMATH T0HAVE FAIR mder New T,avr fount y Will Receive $863 and Court May Add $500. SALEM, Or., May la. (Special.) N. C. Maris, flold worker of Industrial fairs, has written to State Superintend ent of Public Instruction Alderman that Klamath County Is arranging; to hold a county fair under the authority of the new county fair law. He writes: "Under this law, Klamath County will receive $863. to which the county court will probably add $400 or $500 and hold a real agricultural fair, making- tne children's industrial department a lead rntr feature. "Good roads and good school houses are essential adjuncts to grnod schools. These I found to a marked degree in Klamath County. Of the 1100 pupils, patrons and teachers talked to in this campaign.-practically all " favored tha movement and the plan to hold one or more agricultural and Industrial fairs in the.county." DISTRICT FAIRS SUFFER Printing Fund No r-onger Available for Work Since Law's Repeal. SALEM. Or., May 15. (Special.) The district fairs. It Is claimed, have suffered severely as the result of the repealing by the last Legislature of a law placing them under tne supervision of the state. Heretofore the managements of the various fairs have been allowed from $200 to $260 annually of the general printing fund for i.rlnting purposes, the work being done by the State Printer. Several secretaries of district fairs have written to State Printer Duniway that they were preparing the fair data and would forward them in a lew aays. In each Instance Mr. Duniway has re piled that the law, which becomes operative June 3, ends aU printing of this character.
