Reports re ceived by the offloiala of the pro visional government would seem to In dicate that at least TO per cent of the officers of the Infantry battalions of regulars now quartered in Vlster would refuse to serve In a campaign against the province. Major-Onera! Sir C. F. N. Mac Cready, of the adjutant general's staff of the war office, arrived today for the purpose of explaining the situation so as to prevent the resignation of the officers. He was Informed that nearly all the officers of the Norfolk regiment quartered at Holywood bar racks, four miles from Belfast, haj.ex pressed their readiness to resign rath er than to accept orders to take part in an anu-l later campaign. It Is said that among those remain ing loyal are officers whose sympath ies are with Ulster, but who cannot ar ford to sacrifice their pay. The same applies to many other officers of the various regiments now in Custer. The Dorset tomorrow will give Gen eral MacCready their decision at Holy, wood. It is understood that the per centage of refusals to serve among the Dorsets Is even higher than John Straight. Night Board Judges Charlea Pauchy, Jr.. Tom Watts, C. V. Klippel. ARDENWALD. Judge-D.
