The 3d, 4th and 5th grades of Misses Law rence and Baird at Eastham school have 05 pupils while the same grades at Barclay school under three teachers Mlssea Beattie, Wetherell and ' onroe, have but 83. The cause. for thia is that the parents would rather have their children attend the Eastham school on Seventh street on account of the side walks; there being no walk from ths central portion of the hill to the Barclay school and if the children go that way they have to wade through mud which Is not pleasant especially when the mud is on a side hill. The city council should either build a walk or . compel properly owners to do so from Seventh street over the hill on either Jefferson or Madison street. The district was re divided this time but still the pnpils go to the Eastham, which is not as large as the Barclay and cannot accommodate as well.
