LOCAL MENTION Granville Clifton returned Tues day from Portland. George Noble kft for Lelianun last wtx-k. to look after hi ranch over there. Kev. Luke Sheehan will lie in I'rineville next Sunday, Nov. 17. and hold services at the Union church at 10 o'clock. Mr. Isom Oeek i at The Pa!!i Hospital for treatment. She was1 accompanied by Dr. Rosenberg and Mrs. C Sara 'Smith. Union Thanksgiving services at the M. E. church Thanksgiving morning at 10:30. Music by Union choir. Sermon by the Presbyterian rastor. Subject Sunday morninsr t the Presbyterian church, ''Where Did We Get Our Bible." Evening sub ject. "What Should We Do With the Bible." The library book for the county schools have all been segregated and schools not on direct stage lines are requested to call on Supt. Ford and get their books. Last Thursday evening Mrs. Prater entertained the choir, the superintendent of the Sunday School and her husband and the pastor and his cabinet in the as sembly room of the church. ' Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Wylde left Tuesday for Hood River, where they have bought a 10-acre tract within four miles of town. They have a young orchard just coming into bearing; two acre in straw berries and will raise fancy poultry as a side line. Mr. Wylde has sold his ranch at Culver. There will be a 500 party at the club room Friday evening, Novem ber 15, The committee in charge Mesdames Cram, Combs and Cyrus the three C's, want every member of the club to be present. They are planning for a big turn out. Be on hand by 8 o'clock. Don't keep the ladies waiting. LOCAL MENTION Jnhn Schmeer was down from Held the last of the w eek. Miss Helen Riddle pasted through Prineville Wednesday on her way to Suplee. where she will have charge of the school. The Herald report that a crew of nine timber cruiser arrived in Sister last week to make a cruise of private timber holdings. i Gov. Read the announcement in another column. The Pinelyn Park Co. of Bend filed article of incorporation with County Clerk Brown Monday. Cap ital stock 18,000. The incorpora tors are G. P. Putman, E. M. Lara and H. J. Overturf. They will con duct a general real estate business. The'Christian Endeavor societies of Crook county are planning to have a rousing county convention at Prineville December 14 and 15. Prineville wishes an opportunity to show her hospitality upon this oc casion and urges every society to send as many delegates as possible. It is expected that State President Baker, District Superintendent Sprague Jand H. H. Rottman, the newly appointed field secretary of the Northwest U. S. and Western Canada, wilt be at this convention and will give many inspiring talks and much helpful conference. LOCAL MENTION. E. B. Knox of Pout was week end visitor to Prineville. Hamilton and Flor ence Montgomery were married Sunday last by S. W. Robinson. A marriage license was issued Tuesday to Ralph Levering of South Bend, Wash., and Mix Elsie Quack- enbush of Bend. Mr. Randolph Gibson, who ha been visiting her fat her and mother. Sheriff Balfour and wife, left today for her home in The Dalles. Jack Summer left Sunday forj Portland with the Prineville exhibit for the Northwest Land Product j Show, which is held from Nov. 18 to 23. A. S. Holmes, foreman of the Black Butte Land A Livestock Co. of Sisters, was attending the meet ing of the Squaw Creek Irrigation Co. Monday. Sheriff Balfour was called to Me- toliu Monday to arrest Nick Hahn j charged with the wanton destruc-' tion of property. He was taken to 1 Madras and tried before Justice i Jackson, who bound Hahn, over to ' appear before the grand jury in the J sum of 100. His bond for the sum was furnished. Grant B. Freer and Miss Mollie Wilcox were married last month at the home of the bride in Flushing, MiA.
