The disease that started from the visit of a family traveling from Klam ath to the John Day country has been confined to a few cases and all are gettjng along nicely. Dick Vandevert was in the city the first of the week attending to the delivery of his cattle. Dick has sold his entire herd of more than 200 head to L. S. Logan of Crook. The cattle were kept at the ranch near Rosland all sum mer and are in fine condition. Paul Brunzel and his son, W. Brunzel, are in this part of the county buying marketable horses of good weight and fat cattle and sheep. The Brunzel were in the butcher business here about two years ago and have Wen located in Portland and at Oakland. Calif., tince leaving here. The regular business meeting of the Ladies' Annex was held Tues day afternoon. The date of the ladies' fair has been changed from Oct. 31 to Oct. 23. The committee, consisting of Mrs. Kayler, Mrs. Brink and Miss Jennie William son nave charge ot tne lair ana have committees appointed to take charge of the following booths: Ice cream and sherbert, coffee and sandwiches, curiosity, pijnch, candy, gipsy camp and the-Acbeel of fortune. A voting contest at 10 cents a vete will be held for the most popular young lady in Prine ville. A chafing dish or five o'clock tea set will be given as a prize to the winner.
