Lireitock Interests to b Recognized Portltnd, Oregon, June 8, 1907. Editor Journal :-Tremendous in terest ii being developed in the convention of the Oregon Develop ment Lehgue, June 21et and 22nd, and Urge delegations are assured rrom ail aectiona ot the state aa a reault of the low rates of transpor tation. An advance meeting of the presidents and secretaries of the different organitations com posing the league will be held in the convention room of the Port land Commercial Club, Thursday night June 80th, at 8 o'clock. The hope of the league officers relative to this meeting is, that the active men of Oregon may be able to unite upon plans that will greatly add to the population of the state, and agree upon some scheme which will secure the co-operation of the entire population of the State f Oregon in getting the full advant age of the colonist rates which tasgin September 1st and continue until October 31st. 4 The Portland Country Club and Livestock association waa'organized at the Commercial Club Thursday, and among its incorporators are many of the leading financiers and business men of the metropolis. The purpose is to give, a .great sn nual livestock show which will have for its object the thorough and complete development of the livestock industry of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Capital stock' 1150,000. The tourist rates, at a little more than one fare for the round trip and good for Oregon from all parts of the United States went on sale last Saturday in all ticket offices throughout the country.
