Ridenour returned the first of the week from a trip to the Willamette Valley, where ho was called to attend his wife's illness. He reports Mrs. Ridenour out of danger at present, although she wag dangerously ill with the measels. Mr. Ridenour returned across tho Cascades over the Han tiam pass. Then was a meeting of the business men of I'rineville Monday evening at the P.A.A.O. rooms for the purpoae of making on organiz ed effort to promote the interests of the city and surrounding country Plans have been outlined with this end in view, and another meeting will lie held shortly to adopt them and put them in practice. J. N. Williamson canto down from hia shearing plant Monday evening. He reports shearing in progress at his place and saya the tleeces will average more than ten pounds and that the wool is .un usually clean. Mr. Williamson is shearing some ten thousand head of sheep this spring, and with wool selling at 20o to 22c per pound means a snug fortune.
