Mrs. McFadden, of Vale, is visiting friends in Ontario this week. J. O'Conner returned Wed nesday from a trip to Vale. Attorney P. M. Smock, of New Plymouth, was in Ontario, Wednesday on his way to Boise. Wm. McBratrey went to Wei 8er Wednesday on a short busi ness trip. Fred Barrett now owns the Fruitland livery and feed stable and will insure nothing but first class service. Call and see him Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Lyon and family, of Caldwell, drove down in their car Sunday and were calling on friends in the city. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lyon, of Ontario. Mrs. Lyon's mother, Mrs. A. I.'. Remington, expects to leave in a few days for an extended visit with friends at their former home in Independence, Kansas. Weiser Signal. Kd Fraser went to Vale Tues day evening to catch the Wed nesday morning train for J nut lira and will have to lay over there again when he comes out. Charles Kenyon and Buker Ball went to Juntura this week, making the usual lay over in Vale going and coming. It would not do to prmt whut they think of the man who put the new time table into effect. These were two cars of extra fancy, taucy and choice and sold for an average of $4 per box for the extra fancy and $3.50 for the fancy and choice. M. Hobinson and ife, of Viola, Kansas, stopped over in this city several days last week while enroute to northern Ore gon, whore they will visit their son. Mr. Robinson, who is a prosperous farmer of the sun Hower slate, was shown over Mime of the best agricultural sections surrounding Ontario and was greatly impressed with the country. Mrs. (ieorgo Hailey wont to Boise Monday for a short visit. A shipment of stovepipe was made to Vale this week by parcel post. This would t-eem to be about the limit. Mrs. Thos. Kahout and daugh ter, of Jordan Valley, are visit ing Ontario relatives and friends this week. They came over on account of the illness of Mrs. Kittle, Mrs. Kahout's mother. George S. Mr. and Mrs. Orr, of Payette, are rejoicing over the arrival of a son on the 9th. C. J. and I. O. Huuter, of Beulah, were visitors in Ontario last week. George Love passed through Ontario to the Ageucy ranch lust Friday. G. W. Thomas was here this week looking after business in terests in this section. He has been iu the John Day valley and says inuuy of the sheep weie caught in the hills with the heavy snows last week. Chiua Jim fell from his wagon last Friday and broke his collar bone. He will be laid up some hint fur repairs. Marshal Odell was in Cald- ii iii i wen several oays iasi wcok as a witness in the Farrell bigamy case. A. E. Nichols, of Ironsides, is moving his family to Ontario for the winter months. Mrs. W. J. Pinnoy entertained Saturday. There were four tables with "500" as the game. Mrs McCulloch won the honors and Mrs. Bermele the other prize. H. L. Poorman and A. Zim merman are in Portland this week as delegates to the K. I. grand lodge. Mr. Poorman is the grand chaplain and Mr Zimmerman is on some promi nent committees. A J. Howard, of Biogan, was a visitor in Ontario Tuesday. Miss Kmmu Clark returned Tuesday from a six months visit with relatives at OottO Park California. She considers the Ontario climate far ahead of what she saw in California. Otto Blackahy and wife are home from their trip to Port land, where they have been en joying their honeymoon. They will leave in a few days for their homo in Jordan valley.
