Ashland high pep has risen considerably since the rally squad, band, pep club and flag girls started working together. The rally squad should be congratulated on their good work in promoting pep in the student body. They have had mere action in their yells and have done more this yej.r than has ever been done for the school. Ashland high band and their director Mr. Jerry Pierce, have worKed songs in with the yells of Ash land high which has also helped raise pep in the stu dent body. The pep club has created pep by the stunt card section which they have started. They have also cre ated more interest in their own club by having a new uniform made out of red corduroy. The flag girls are to be commended on their ex cellent work during the half time of the game. Let's keep up the good work and move further toward making Ashland high "the best" when it comes to school spirit. I'll ad mit it seems FUN for some of us and gives us the feeling of being GROWNUP, but think of the other ways to have fun and feel grown-up, without having to loose the respect of others and have our privileg es taken away from us at the same time. Stealing or grand larceny: I'm not much of an authority on this as far as ever having a hand in it myself, but I've re cently seen a nice person lose the respect he had been build ing up many years in this city. He thought he was really being "grown-up" and smart by doing it. He realized he was wrong when it was too late. I honestly believe it becomes an obsession with a person after a period of time. We have got lo realize these things and have the will-power to quit, for our own sakes, as well as future generations. More than likely a lot of you are thinking as you read this that I'm somewhat of a 'square.' Maybe I am, but if you stop to think, most of us are in one way or another. I must say that I, for one, have a long way to travel before I even start to re ally become the nice person I'd like to be, but I'm working at it, so why don't you too?
