District No. 1 includes all the territory within the city limits. District No. 2 'the remaining portion of Polk county. FIRST GRAND CAPITAL PRIZE The Candidate polling the highest num ber of votes regardless of the district in which she resides will receive a beautiful Upright Piano valued at $350, will be on display cbout the 27th. ihenexttwo highest, one In each dis trict, will recleve a diamond ring valued at $75 and guaranteed by Howe's Jewelry Store. The next two highest, one in each dis trict will be awarded a first class sewing machine, latest model. Any lady resident of Polk county, married or single, bet ween the ages of 14 and 45 years is eligible to compete. The Contest Manager reserves the right to reject any nomination for candidacy. Any employee of this office not eligible. The Contest Management will not be responsible for typographical errors in the publishing of votes except to make correction in the following issue. Should any question arise to the inter pretation of the foregoing rules the decision of the Contest Manager will be final. In each issue of the Monitor will be printed a nomination blank to beused for nomination purposes. The blanks when properly filled in andmriled or brought to the Contest Department will be registered to the credit of the Can didate whose name is thereon. Each nomination blank counts for 5000 votes and only one will be credited to each candidate. Secure a nomination blank at once and fill in your name or the name of some young- lady you would like to have win one of the prizes.
