By William Philip Stmms (United Press staff corredpondeirt) Paris, Dec. 21. President Wilson's decision to enter the war "was one of the greatest events mankind has ever had to register," declared Vice Rector Lucien Poincaro today, in conferring the degrees of doctor of laws and his tory upon the president at Soibonn university. "History will tell how he tried to realize the imperishable supremacy of right by an association of peoples to liberate the world," said Poincare. In closing his address, he said: "In the name of the University of Paris (Sorbonn) I have the great hon or of bestowing the insignia and diplo ma of a doctor upon whom posterity will call 'the juftt.' " The ceremonies took place in the presence of Phesident Poincare, Pre mier Clemeneeau, the cabinet and the president of the senate and chamber. President Wilson will return to Paris from his English trip, December 30, prepared to take up the final preliminaries of the formal inter allied conference. By that time, he .will have obtained tho principal points of view of the British, French and Italian diplomats, together with those of gome neutrals. The presidential party will leave Par is for American headquarters at Chau mont, in a special train, December 24. In addition to tbepresident there will bo Mrs. Wilson, their private secretar ies and Bear Admiral Grayson. Have Special Train Another special train will carry the party from Chaumoat to a channel port Christmas night. They will arriv ait this port at ID o'clock the follow ing morning. Thereafter, .all arrange ments will be in the hands of the Brit ish. The channel will be crossed in a wr ship. The president will roach London at 2:30 in the afternoon and ho will go to Buckingham palace, where he will dine with King George. The president will attend a dinner at the Guild hall on tho 27tli and will go to Manchester on the 2.1th. On the 29th he will go to Carlisle., the birth place of his mother, where there is to be a concert. Ho will return to London that night and Heave for Paris the following- day. ADJOURN I. W. W. Vis itors were Mrs . Fred Durbin and sons, Solly and Junior, Mrs. Abe Stcf fen, Mrs. Albert Janz, Mrs. John Tweed and Mrs. Pearl Miller. The dedication of the serviee flag for this district took place at Central How ell church Friday evening, the thir teenth, there being ten stars on the flag. The names cannot all be called to mind just at present, but must of them are: Carl Mikkelson, Barney Leighty, Balph Stevens, Noah Tardon, Oscar Tuve, Thomas Tuve, Oscar Lind quist, Will Evans, Louie Gerber, Dan Steffens. There are a few names that stars -will be pat in for that were over looked. A splendid program was given. Fred Durbin gave a talk on the Bed Cross and the many benefits derived from it. Mr. Bloom gave a very inter eating talk concerning tho observance of the Indians participating in the first fathers, and best of all ho didn't leave out the mothers. He told what an ac tive part they had in it; ho also told of the Indian participating in the first Thanksgiving in this country and how it lasted a whole week, bong by the Bloom sistors, accompanied on the or gan by Mrs. Turner. Last Tuesday evening Miss Audrey Baggett attended a birthday party giv en by Miss Detonia Burn of Broadway, Snlein, in honor of her friends. The evo ning was joyously spent with music and games and last but not least a dainty lunch and the cutting of tho birthday cake.
