LeeSteinerWiH Command Forces In - Liberty Loan Drive i A military organization has been chosen by the county committee for tho coming Third Liberty loan drive, which starts April Gth, and In. it. IS. Lee Steiner, superintendent of the Stat Hospital for the insane has been select ed as the 'general' in charge. T)r. Steiner is in charge of the solicitors over the entire county and has every intention of not permitting the county to fall behind again and wJill see that the workers, under his leadership, go over tho top. : '. The workers will bo under lieutenant colonels in each section, and under thse will be captains and lieutenants. These will select their assistants, and it is probeble that the entire organ ization will be affected within a few days. The committee has been meet ing every evening for tho past thrc days, anu much work remains to do. The selection of Dr. Steiner as leadef has solved one of the hardest problems confronting the local organization. In addition to tho soliciting deparb ment, there arc three other sections the public speaking committee in charge of Charles (ralloway tho Card ing committee, which" will have charge of the household questionnaires, and is under R. E. Brownson, nd the pub licity. comniHtee, a leader ofr which has not been selected. The publicity work will be divided into newspaper advertising, distribu tion of the material furnished by the state office and a special features branch. It is probable that each will have a separate head for the work. New Time Schedule In Effect Touorrow At 2 o'clock tomorrow morning, the new -time schedule goes into effect. This is not required by law, but will probably be considered politic by the average" citizen for the reason that every organization affected by the state and federal governments will set the clock ahead an hour, and it will save confusion to fall in line. This applies to railroad time. 'F.very train on the railroads will arrive an hour earlier after those on way reach destination, than the past although the time tables will remain the same. The person who forgets to set his watch ahead will be required to get up an hour earlier in order to eatch the early morning train, and the railroad ticket agents are expecting an epidemit of missed trains tomorrow. It is probable that every firm and organization in Salem will adopt the system withont a question. The schools are to opea at the usual time according tothe elotk but this will be ahead of the tim according to the sun by one hour. The only person who is liable to be sei'onsly affected in the milk man, who will be required t do an hour more work before th son pets nn.
