Clark Hembrec, who has a large dairy farm and milks a number of cows, fears he will have to turn them dry as his man has enlisted and thus far' he has been unable to get anyone to tak his place. Other farmers report the same trouble. A plan to raise money with which to purchase a f leg to place on top the train ing school is being carried out here by tho children of the seventh and eighth grades. The plat)' is to sell for 10 cents each, cards bearing the words "This is to certify that the bearer owns one share in the training school flag." There is 110 trouble to sell the cards and the children expect to purchase a flag that will cost about $20 and one they can feel proud of. Sumner Ostroin, sou of Mr. and Mrs-. E. If. Hubbard Enterprise. GOTTLIEB SCHWADER DIED Gottlieb Schwader was born in Penn svlvania in 1831, and died at Aurora Oreeon. Tttesdav March 20, 1917. At the age of 13, ho came from Pennsyl vania with his parents in 1845 to Beth el, Aio., and crossed 4lie plains in 1855 to Willapa, Wash. After a winter there ho moved to Portland and the same year to Aurora, in 1856, where he has lived for tu years. The funeral services Thursday at the residence and cemetery were conducted by J. P.. Cole. The age of "deceased was 84 years, 6 months and 14 tuy at tha time of his death. He is survived by brother William Schwader and a sis ter, Mm. Fred Kcll. Mr. Schwader was never married nnd made his home with his brother. During a long and busy life, Mr. Schwader, like many others of the ear ly pionyers, saw the wonderful chang es and the marvelous development ' of this valley, due in a great measure to tho labors of these same pioneers, all of whom deserve honor for their part in this great work.
