The Drager Fruit company will ship tomorrow from the Roseburg plant, 3,500 boxes of prunes, ouch box weighing 50 pounds, to New- York, where they will be delivered to the Can teen committee of the British nrmv. This is the first shipment sold this year ' direct to tho English government. As the law now stands, if a dog re fuses to be caught by the pound master nnd his assistants, the owner of the dog may be arrested and brought before the bar or .justice. Dr. Cnthth happens to be the owner of an Irish setter lliai has succeeded in making a get-away every time the pound master attempts to be friendly and as the dog refuses to come under the jurisdiction of the law, it is up to the doctor to keep the dog at home or take the consequences. The next number of the Salem library lecture course will be the playing of se lections from the opera ''Carmen," on work and has selected the engineering branch. His death was due to ty phoid pneumonia. Mr. Dye was born 22 years ago in Clackamas, Ore. At the age of 12 years, he came to Salem ami from this city moved to Honeoye Falls. New York.
