Rodgers was born September 17, 18(14, on a farm about eight miles south of Salem, and died at Eugene, Ore., July 2(i, 1915. He lived for the greater part of his life in the home in which he was born, but in 1SH4, because of a miilndv from which he had suffered the most of his life, he sold the iionie farm and started for pastern Oregon with his family. They went only as fa' as Eu gene, where he rented a farm. His deuth came following a severe operation . unci a very snort illness. Air. Hodgers was a graduate of nil lumrttc university, class of 188-1, mid during his college course, under the preaching ot President unhcoy, he was converted and joined the .Methodist Episcopal church, of which he remained a faithful member until his death. In 1SS9 ho was married to Miss Carrie Humphreys, who survives him, together with their live children: .Mrs. hurl Crosson, Mrs. Harry Neurhoff, .Mrs. Forest Edwards, and Josephine and l.ovina Clarke. The funeral services were held July 28, at the undertaking parlors of Webb & Clough, in Salem, nnd were con ducted by Rev. J. C. Spencer, of the Leslie .M.
