He spoke at consider able length as to the benefits that would be derived from first-class roads, and said the money left in the country by tourists was as near "velvet" as any that could be placed in that class. He also described the steel bridge hero and said it was necessary that a new one be built. The present bridgo ii unsafe, and while it may last a year or two, or even more, yet it had reached a stage where it was liable to gi at any time.
