The local chief of police, who is also the Anthony Comstock of this city, has just solved the problem of censuring an over done French play with out prohibiting it entirely. Tho drama in question was "Mrs. President." Where the lines were considered offensive to public de cency, the chief suppressed them en tirely, but where the lines were satis factory and only the dramatic action was too much, the chief allowed the actors to recite their parts but with the stage darkened so that the audi ence could not see what accompanied the lines. At head quarters of the Ulster Provisional Gov ernment, which is fighting Home Rule, it was anounced today that tho "army of UlHter," composed of 500,000 mon who have been sonrotly drilled to op pose the Dublin Parliament, will be supplemented with a motorcycle corps, which will carry dispatches and in some instances act as scoutB in the event of actual hostilities. Tho corps is comKsed of fifty men at present. This number, It wns said today, will be increased to more than 200 if tho threatened break occurs. Franz Unnort, until some years ago one of the Kaiser's personal body guard, today commenced serving a sentence of six months for stealing.
