The hoys were cutting boughs at the camp grounds near Quinahy and both were slashing at the same time when the Winter boy's hand came in contact wilh the hatchet wielded by the Mummy lad. The former's three fingers were badly gashed and Dr. C. II. Robertson took several stitches In order to save them all, Later it was found that the middle fiuger of the left hand had to bo amputated. Jack Filburn.a student at the Che mawa Indian training school, is being looked for by officers at present. Young Filbnru ran away from the school last week and his not been heard from since. Ray Diamond, the man who held up tho (llendale bank recently, was brought to the penitentiary last Satur day evening. Diamond was given ten years for the crime. A meeting of considerable Importance has been called by President IVArey, of the promotion department of the Sa lem Commercial Club for Thursday ev ening, July 24, at 8 o'clock in the so cial rooms of the old Illihee Club.
