were Introduced in the senate today
by Senator Cotter, of Sumner, Pierce
county, to aid farmers who market
their produce in Seattle in their fight
awlnst the commission combine
known as the "big six" In Western
Avenue.
One of his bills amends the Paul
hamus bill, Introduced at the session
two years ago, by removing tho qucs
lion relating to uonus. in other re
spects. It Is slmillar to tho Paulhamus
measure requiring that commission
men keep their books open for produc
ers, and make correct account of all
shipments.'
Cotter's other bill prohibits leasing
lands outside cities and towns to
aliens, and provides a penalty of a
$1,000 fine and a years Imprisonment
or both. It Is aimed at Japanese
glowers, who have under lease large
areas of land around Seattle.
