Klndle berg waa given a flno of $3 this morn ing In police court for violation of the speed ordinance. Ho pleaded guilty to fast driving. Hack From Hunting Trip A party consisting of II. P. Mlnto, W. L. Jones, George G. Illngham, Oscar Ilower, F, T. Wrlgbtman and Kugene Willis returned from Southern Oregon Saturday night, at which place they have been hunting for the past two weeks. The party reported a splendid time and lots of game, among whicn was a five-point buck. Kurt In Runaway A runaway occurred on the road near the reform school Sunday after- noon about 3 o'clock, In which Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cornu, of Fratum, were both Injured. Mr. Comus spine was Injured to the extent that he was unable to stand, and he was bruised about his body, as well as a scalp wound. Mrs, Cornu received several cuts and bruis es, but was not serloiiBly Injured. The runaway was caused by the horse be coming frightened at a passing blc.V' cle. Dr. Drawer attonded the Injured people, and they were taken to their home at Pratum by the ambulance In the evening. Good llaeball Gnmo Sunday Salem haHcball fans had the oppor tunlty of witnessing a fairly good game of ball yesterday on the local field between the Senators and the Weonas, of Portland. Salem, as usual won, tbo score being 8 to 2. Jones, for the locals being the first man up, smashed a homer over the right field fence. One peculiar circumstance about the visitors' two Bcores la the fact that they were both made by the suma man, Nelson, left fielder. Salem got 12 bits and Portland 7. The We onas are credited with 2 errors, while the local made 4. Raker struck out 1 men and Gravelle for the Weonas caught 8.of our men napping. Will Have Charge of Display John T. Albert, formerly of this city Is In the city, having come to take charge of the exhibit of the Interna tional Harvester Company of America. The company represented by Mr. Al bert has five cars of harvesting ma chinery now off the fair grounds ready to be set up, and he will begin this work today. The exhibit consists of traction engines and a general display of farm machinery. This company has for a long time been the largest exhibitor of farm machinery at the annual state fairs and this year the exhibit will be up to former years, if not better.
