Y., is charged with fraud in a suit involving coal lands worth $20,000,000 situated in Queen Char lotte islands. The case is brought by Z. M. Hamilton and associates, of Victoria, against Rev. Hlllls, with James A. Moore, of Seattle and the Western Coal and Iron Company as parties to the suti. H. W. R. Moore, solicitor for Z. W. Hamilton, was granted leave by Justice Clement, in chambers, to serve a writ out of the Jurisdiction of the court on Rev. Hillis, at Brook lyn, and the writ went forward to day for service. Upon complaint by Earl Ashford, 18, a warrant was issued today tor the ar rest of "Alburtus," an alleged hyp notist, who Is appearing at a local theater here. Ashford was the hyp notic subject used by "Alburtus" last night at the theater. A hatpin was forced through the boy's tongue, an other through both cheeks, one through the lobe of his ear, another through the flesh under his Jaw and two through one of his arm.s With these pins In the boy's flesh, the "hypnotist" led him through the aifdience, declaring that the lad was in a trance. The scene1 seriously affected the feelings of some of the women in the audience. It was noticed that while being led through the audience the young man wiped blood from his Hps, despite the "you Bee there is no blood, no pain" talk by the "hypno tist." Ashford said today that he was in no sense under the influence of "Al burtus.' He said he thought there was some trick about the flesh piercing, and had no idea that the pins would really stick Into his flesh. When the long hat pin was thrust through his tongue, he said he couldn't yell If be wanted to." He said that the pain was terrible. The criminal charge against "Al burtus" is that of violation of the state law prohibiting the employment of a minor In a stage performance. In addition Ihe young man will bring a civil suit demanding $50 for each pin thrust.
