This city should exercise constant vigilance to save the
beautiful natural trees that are tho greatest natural beauty
of tho city,
Save tho fir trees, the oak trees, and the maple trees, and
thus prdsorve the great natural beauty of the city.

tlmos on private property and sometimes on public streets,
Ony this' week a man applied to the committee on parks to
got permission to cut down four oak trees on an unused
street.
Those trees have boon over a hundred years in growing
and 'cannot bo replaced, and yet this man wanted them for
firowood,
There are no moro beautiful trees in the world than tho
native oaks on our hills and even on the low grounds.
It ought to bo madoa sacrilege to cut down ono of them
and tho park board of this city ought to save them,
Thero are noble, towering firs standing on our suburban
stroots that attract tho covetous eyes of the tree butcher.
What has our park board done to savo any of these trees
from tho vandal hand of tree killers?
