R. ANNOUNCES THAT TRAINS WILL OPERATE FROM WEST SALEM BEFORE FAIR TIME SEPTEMBER 1 3 What will it mean to Salem and West Salem property? It means that from eight- to twelve passenger trains will arrive and leave West Salem every day .aside from freight service. Last year the Dallas and Falls City R. R. carried betw j:n Dallas and Black Rock be tween 35,000 and 40,000 passengers. It is estimated that the river boats carried between Independence and Salem about 10.000 passengers last year. The stage lines carried something like 7000 or 800b passengers last year.. Total (conservative estimate) 50,000. Over the new road you can go to Dallas in 30 minutes for 50c; stages and livery cannot compete with this. In short, the new road means that west Salem will have about 5000 passengers every month coming and going. Do you think property in a town handling 5000 people every month in 1909, and at least 12,000 every month in 1910, will-be worth anything? We arc selling lots in West Salem for $5 down and $5 per month, without interest. Can you afford to miss this investment? We don't think so. You won't either, after awhile. Buy a lot where it will do you some good. Buy on the line of Salem's first railway feeder. Figure the future of West Salem for yourself. WATERS BROS.
